After applying for the Vietnam visa twice and receiving both of them within 3-4 days, with my little experience I can say the Vietnam visa is one of the easiest visas Indians can apply for. The steps are straightforward and don’t require a lot of documents.

In this guide, we are only going to talk about the Vietnam tourist visa. The visa we are applying for is an eVisa for Vietnam. Vietnam does have a Visa on arrival but it’s only for business visas which we will discuss later in the post. This guide will help you to apply for your Vietnam tourist visa from India.

What is the cost of a Vietnam tourist visa for Indians?

The first question you might have is how much does the visa cost. A Vietnam travel visa costs 25$(approx 2100 INR) which gives you a maximum of 90 days of stay for a single entry/multiple entry. The payments for the visa can be done with your Visa, MasterCard, or American Express card.

Things you need to know before applying for a Vietnam tourist visa

• Make sure your Indian passport is valid for at least six months beyond your planned travel date to Vietnam. Additionally, ensure that you have at least two blank pages in your passport for the visa stamp.

• Apply a week before your travel date because it takes 3-4 working days to get processed

How to apply for a Vietnam e-visa

Step 1: Go to the Vietnam eVisa portal: https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/web/guest/trang-chu-ttdt and start the eVisa process.

 

Step 2: Upload your passport photo and the info page of the passport in jpg format on the visa portal website.

 

Step 3: You need to fill in your details as is in the passport.

Step 4: Do know the entry points and exit points of your Vietnam trip and add them accordingly. You also need to provide an address where you’ll be staying(no proof needed).

Step 5: Pay the online fees for the e-visa from any of the digital modes of payment (Visa/Master/Amex)

You will get a confirmation of your application number and the details of the payment made on your email id.

Step 6: After 3 days you can check for the status of your visa here: https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/tra-cuu-thi-thuc 

Once you have been approved, make a copy of your e-visa and take it on your trip for a hassle-free immigration process.

Can we get a Visa on arrival for Vietnam?

Yes, a visa on arrival is available for Indians but it is only applicable for a business visa which also requires a lot of pre-approved documents. As a traveler, there is no visa on arrival to Vietnam for Indians.
