Hi, i have just recovered from mumps but have travel to South Africa scheduled for the 12th of December. Will i need a vaccine for SA? And if so can I take it around 1st of Dec?

    • storiesofraku

Though South Africa, is not in the list of countries that mandatorily require a Yellow fever vaccine. If you have a longer layover in one of the countries that require a vaccine you should get it. I would also suggest you to check with your doctor about getting a vaccine

  • Sushmi

    Hello,
Thank you for the information. If I walk in to make the appointment for the yellow fever vaccination, can I get it done on the same day?
    Thanks

    • storiesofraku

Hey Sushmi, it’s very unlikely that you will be able to get the yellow fever vaccine on the same day. But you can still try by going early and showing your travel documents.

  • Parimal

Thanks for this article. We got it done exactly as you’ve described. Fee is changed to 440/- per head. Folks who don’t consume egg (not even as cake) must get egg allergy test done before arriving here. They also provide polio vaccine + certificate at the same spot for Kenya travel.

    Hi,

I have a Canadian passport and OCI card. I am not allowed to have Aadhaar card. I am in Bengaluru now and plan to travel to Uganda.

How do I get the yellow fever vaccine without Aadhaar Card?

Your Blog is really helpful and it fulfills the need of the people where information is otherwise lacking.

    Thanks

    • storiesofraku

Hey Sunil, glad you found the blog useful. In your scenario I would suggest you to go ahead to the hospital with your OCI card and you should not face any difficulty as when I was there I did see a foreigner getting a yellow fever vaccination. Do let me know how it goes, so I can update the blog!

      • Prasuna Thiruvuru

Followed your instructions and the process seems same as of May 13th, 2024. Only thing I would mention is, arrive at the location atleast by 8.30 am. Even though we had an appointment we had to wait a couple of hours to be called for the billing and to be administered the vaccine. Also keep exact change of Rs/- 435 for yellow fever. Polio is free.

  • Sunil Gupta

    Hi Raku,

I am so thankful to you for very important tips which reduced my stress considerably. I called them and was given an appointment on ist May, 2024. Although to my surprise when I reached the hospital they said it’s a holiday. But the staff was really helpful and there were five people to get vaccinated and on our repeated requests they arranged for us to get the vaccine. The Yellow fever card will be signed by the Nodal Officer tommorow because she was not available due to holiday.

Charges are Rs 440 in cash per person. They only asked for my Canadian passport, OCI card was not required.

I appreciate your help, please keep sharing the info. Thanks
